About Me
My Personal History
I was born and raised in Central New York (Syracuse). Central New York was great. Before leaving home, I earned my Eagle Scout and a college degree. When I left, I took with me a lot of fond memories.
I moved to Cincinnati for a job in my early 20's. While there, I met my future wife Rebecca at a Yoga class. After a few years of dating, we married on the summer solstice and raised two boys of whom I am very proud.
After twenty years in the Cincinnati area, we decided to move to Woodland Park. I absolutely love it here. The air is cleaner. The people are nicer. I am constantly surrounded by the woods. My stress level has never been lower.
We have a "1970's spectacular" home behind Manitou Lake off of Route 67. Sometimes Rebecca and I take short hikes around our property with our three chihuahuas. Tails up, noses down.
In my spare time, I tinker. I repair stuff. I play Airsoft. I run a cluster of servers at home. This web site that you are currently reading is hosted out of my home.
My History With Computers
Around 1990 I became interested in computers. I spent more time learning how to craft autoexec.bat and config.sys files to play video games than I did actually playing the games. After high school I attended college for Computer Engineering Technology and later Computer Science. While studying at SUNY Institute of Technology, I was employed by the IT department to service staff and faculty workstations, and also help out with various network projects.
In 2003, a friend offered me a job at the ORAUCOC project, which was being run by NIOSH, a division of the CDC. I moved from Syracuse, New York to Cincinnati (Northern Kentucky). While there, I took care of servers, desktops, networks, supported the developers, and started learning process automation.
In 2010, I made the jump to Accenture where I focused on process automation and relational database design. This is where I met Chris, the best boss I would ever know. Together we toppled mountains and outperformed other groups within Accenture that were 10x our size.
After five years, Accenture downsized and I moved over to Great American Insurance Group. I became one of their Cloud Automation Engineers.
After less than two years I was lured by Chris to Logicalis. Logicalis let me really spread my wings. I spent almost all my time working projects or process automation for the IT department. I loved every minute of it.
However, an extended life at Logicalis was impossible because they were forced to downsize. Fortunately, I would again follow Chris to a different company, CenterGrid. At CenterGrid I have used all of my skills and talents and I continue to be employed there today.
